Privacy Policy

How we handle your personal information when you contact us through this website, in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).

Last updated: October 2026

Robust Machines (“we”, “us”) respects your privacy and protects your personal information in line with POPIA. This policy explains what we collect when you contact us through this website, why we collect it, how we keep it safe, and your rights.

Who is responsible for your information

Robust Machines and Automation is the responsible party.
Factory: 316 Mundt Street, Waltloo, Pretoria, Gauteng.
Email: info@robustmachines.co.za
Phone: 066 228 5502 or 082 453 8651

What we collect

When you submit an enquiry, quote request or order, we collect the details you give us: your name, phone number, email address, town or province, the machine or product you’re interested in, and any message you send. We do not collect special categories of information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Why we collect it

We use your information only to respond to your enquiry, prepare and send you pricing, and process or arrange any order and contact you about it. If you tick the optional marketing box on a form, we may also send you occasional news and offers — and only then.

Giving us your information is voluntary

You don’t have to give us your details, but without them we can’t respond to your enquiry or prepare a quote for you.

How we store and protect it

Your submission is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection and stored in our lead-management system, hosted on Google Firebase. The database is located in Google’s European data centres, and access is restricted to authorised Robust Machines staff through individual logins. Because the data is stored outside South Africa, we rely on the European Union’s data-protection regime, which provides a level of protection comparable to POPIA, as contemplated in section 72 of POPIA.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

With your permission, this website uses Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement to count visits, see how the site is used and measure whether our adverts lead to enquiries. These tools may set cookies and send technical information to Google, such as your IP address, browser and the pages you view. Google may process this information outside South Africa.

A banner asks for your choice when you first visit. You can accept or decline, and you can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page. If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, these tools stay switched off until you accept. Elsewhere they run unless you decline. Declining does not affect how the site works or your ability to send an enquiry. Your browser also stores your language choice on your own device; this is not shared with anyone.

Direct marketing

We will only send you electronic marketing where you have agreed to it (for example, by ticking the marketing box) or where the law otherwise permits. You can opt out at any time by replying to any message or emailing us, and we will stop.

How long we keep it

We keep your information only for as long as we need it for the purpose above — to handle your enquiry and any resulting relationship — after which we delete or anonymise it.

Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to ask what information we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to object to its processing, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise any of these, email info@robustmachines.co.za.

Our Information Officer

Our Information Officer is Leon Du Plessis, who can be reached at leon@robustmachines.co.za.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your information, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa): website inforegulator.org.za, email POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page.
